We are proud to introduce Dr. Priyanka Sakhavalkar, an esteemed oral medicine specialist dedicated to serving our community with expertise and compassion. Dr. Priyanka graduated with honors, earning her BDS in 2007 and her MDS in Oral Medicine & Radiology in 2014 from MGV's KBH Oral Medicine College & Hospital in Nashik.
Notably, Dr. Priyanka excelled in her postgraduate studies, achieving the highest marks in her batch and receiving the prestigious Suraj Gupta Award along with a Gold Medal at her final MDS examination. Building on her academic achievements, she pursued further education and research opportunities abroad.
With a keen interest in advancing biomedical imaging, Dr. Priyanka was awarded the JRD Tata gift scholarship to pursue an MSc in Advanced Biomedical Imaging at University College London, a globally renowned institution. She then embarked on a PhD journey in Radiobiology & Diagnostic Imaging, focusing on pediatric brain cancers, with full scholarship funding for five years in the UK.
Having completed her doctoral studies, Dr. Priyanka returned to India with a strong commitment to improving community health and well-being. She is passionate about helping patients detect oral cancers early and providing effective relief, ultimately enabling them to enjoy pain-free eating after healing from ulcers and enhancing their overall quality of life.
Dr. Priyanka’s dedication to the field has been recognized with the prestigious Charaka National Award 2024 for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry for outstanding contribution in Oral Medicine & Radiology by the Indian Dental Association. This award highlights her exemplary work in oral medicine and radiology, especially her dedication to oral cancer prevention and post-cancer oral care.
Dr. Priyanka's dedication extends beyond clinical practice into academia. She is a sought-after international speaker, having presented her research on TMJ, MRI, orofacial pain, and cancer imaging at esteemed organizations such as RSNA, EANO, ESR DMFR, ISMRM, and IAOMR. In recognition of her contributions, she received the prestigious "Magna cum Laude" Best International Research Poster Award at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2022 in Vienna. Additionally, she has contributed to numerous publications and conference papers, showcasing her commitment to advancing the field of oral medicine and radiology.
